A new chapter

Built on experience

Suttle & Co was established by Gary Suttle in 1984, working alone from home, and has grown to our current team of 12 serving over 500 businesses and many more individuals. Helen and Sarah, his daughter, took over the firm in April 2025.

There is a strong continuity behind the name, and between us we have a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the clients and businesses we look after.

We are proud to have built on the foundations of the original practice while bringing our own ideas, experience and approach to the future with fresh energy and a modern, digital way of working.

How we work

Client support

Get in touch and we'll arrange an initial conversation to find out a little more about you and your business and what you need from us. We believe the relationship between you and your accountant matters.

We'll make sure we're the right fit for each other, and provide a full proposal setting out the work we will undertake and the applicable fees, before you make any commitment.

Once we're working together, we'll take care of the accounting and tax side of things and be here when you need advice.

Helen Christopher

CPAA MATT - Director

I joined Suttle & Co in 1988 as a trainee and have been part of the firm ever since. I qualified through the AAT, reaching Level 4 in 1996, and went on to complete my ATT qualifications in 2015, becoming a member of the Association. I'm also a member of the CPAA and hold a practising certificate with them.

After decades looking after the firm's clients, I'm excited to be taking Suttle & Co forward with Sarah and our team. It's a challenging time for the profession — compliance demands and digital technology are reshaping accountancy faster than ever — and that's exactly why I'm so focused on what matters most: making sure every client is well looked after and fully compliant.

Sarah Winship

MATT - Director

I began my career in tax and public sector finance, starting at the Inland Revenue (now HMRC) in 2002 as a supervisor in a team processing Self-Assessment returns before training as an Employer Compliance Officer dealing with PAYE enquiries. In 2007 I joined Dorset Police as a manager in the Finance Department responsible for a team that dealt with a wide range of day-to-day internal functions.

After taking a career break when I had my first child, I joined Suttle & Co in 2015 and completed the ACCA exams as part of an apprenticeship.

I became a licensed member of AAT in 2025 and feel very proud that Helen and I can continue the business my father built over the last 40 years. Most important to me is that we help people feel less overwhelmed and more confident about their business finances.
